SCS Wellington Controller
Wellington’s SCS controllers are known throughout the commercial refrigeration industry. The SCS Controllers are a range of electronic thermostats and EMDs (energy management devices) created for the application of commercial refrigeration systems. They feature a user friendly interface and a cutting-edge refrigeration control capability. The SCS controllers where created specifically for use with bottle coolers. They are the ideal controller for open and front bottle coolers as well as display cases and can act as case controllers for remote display cabinets, heated display cabinets and fountain systems. They fit the standard 71x29mm mounting hole, and feature up to 4 relays and 5 analog or digital inputs, so they can retrofit most existing electronic thermostats, energy management devices (EMDs) or controllers.
The SCS controllers can also be connected to Wellington’s SCS connect system online fleet management software. With inbuilt Bluetooth smart capability, SCS connect model controllers can connect to Wellingtons Innovative SCS Connect System suite of desktop and mobile cooler fleet management software. The software features include asset tracking, smart maintenance and diagnostics, sales statistics gathering and HACCP data logging. The SCS Connect controllers feature IBeacon capability for instore marketing. Unlike other IBeacons, Wellington’s have no batteries to run out, cannot be misplaced or lost and can interact with customers via the cooler itself.
The controllers have been optimized to be energy efficient. This is done via the multi-stage automatic standby mode as well as temperature, fans and light levels for different zones which can be independently controlled. Refrigeration efficiency can also be optimized with features such as continuously variable fan speeds (when used with ECR motors), dimmable lighting and a whole range of easy to adjust control parameters.
The SCS controllers are user friendly and can be controlled and monitored via smart phone with plain multi language support and online help. They can be configured in the factory, laboratory or once installed and running and can be done from either saved files or as you go. Finding faults is made easy with easy to read fault codes and operating history stored on the phone and directly control outputs. Custom algorithms and parameters are also available to OEMs. Because of the large amount of i/o and powerful 32 bit microprocessor, SCS controllers are capable of controlling non-standard components and running sophisticated control strategies.
The controllers are designed to withstand varying commercial environments and can help extend the lifetime of other components. They can be water resistant and can protect electronics against humidity. All relays are either solid state or have zero current switching capability, giving operating life of over 1 million cycles*. The SCS controller protects the compressor against undervoltage and overvoltage, and its current measurement capability enables it to sense component failures before they damage other parts.

The appearance of SCS controllers can be customised, due to the clip-on front panel and adhesive touchpad overlay. With a 3-channel LED dimmer, cabinet lighting can be altered, including colour, multi-zone, and dynamic changes.
